 . Using the ancient method of encaustic painting and process\, these works 
 feature elements of photography\, painting\, and layering combined with hea
 ted wax\, pigment\, and natural tone luminosity. The artists featured in th
 is show have a nuanced understanding of this material and provide a wide ra
 nge of what's possible with encaustic. Artists Larry Calkins\, Nichole DeMe
 nt\, Catherine Eaton Skinner\, Kathy Hastings\, and Joey Robinson are broug
 ht together to share in the love of this multi-faceted natural medium and p
