SUMMARY:SAM Performs: The Seattle Women's Jazz Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a series of musical performances exploring the genre that inspi
 red the genius exhibited in Following Space: Thaddeus Mosley and Alexander 
 Calder. This event is the final performance of the series of different jazz
  ensembles. Listen to this experimental and dynamic music\, as we consider 
 its lasting influence on Modern and Contemporary artists. \nThe performance
  will take place in our Plestcheeff Auditorium from 12–12:45 pm and 1:15–2 
 pm. Because of the current forum closure\, guests will enter through the en
 trance on the corner of 1st Ave and University St. \nThe Seattle Women's Ja
 zz Orchestra\nThe Seattle Women's Jazz Orchestra (SWOJO) was formed in 2000
  to encourage women and girls to become involved in jazz performance and co
 mposition as a career or avocation\, to develop the musical\, educational a
 nd artistic growth of individual musicians\, and to foster appreciation of 
 jazz as an art form. SWOJO has become a dynamic force for jazz in the Puget
  Sound and Pacific Northwest. It has performed at clubs\, jazz festivals an
 d concert halls on two continents. \nSWOJO proudly features the contemporar
 y\, original music of regional and international women composers and arrang
 ers including Jill Townsend\, Ann Reynolds\, Leigh Pilzer\, Christine Jense
 n\, Jessie Smith and Nelda Swigget. SWOJO has performed with many female ja
 zz artists including Dee Daniels\, Grace Kelly\, Mimi Fox\, Christine Jense
 n\, Jill Townsend\, Sherrie Maricle\, Greta Matassa\, Sheryl Bailey\, Ingri
 d Jensen and many others. SWOJO has performed at Benaroya Hall\, the Vancou
 ver Wine and Jazz Festival\, Seattle Jazz Vespers\, Triple Door\, Bumbersho
 ot\, Festival Jazz en Lima (Peru) and others. \nTickets\nFree
