  making\, concerts\, and moments of community—all inspired by SAM’s permane
 nt collections and exhibitions.\nWhether you’re an art enthusiast\, a curio
 us newcomer\, or just looking for a place to recharge this weekend\, you’re
  always welcome. Learn about art through interactive activities\, meet new 
 friends\, or simply enjoy the atmosphere before exploring the galleries.\nP
 rograms in SAM’s entry gathering spaces are always free and open to everyon
 e. Bring your curiosity and imagination\, we’ll provide the rest.\n11 am–2 
 pm\nSAM Performs: The Balourdet Quartet\nBrotman Forum\nJoin Seattle Chambe
 r Music Society's Balourdet Quartet for a multi-sensory experience where mu
 sic\, art\, and the idea of food intertwine. The Balourdet Quartet\, who ar
 e bonded by a love of shared meals and are named after a French chef\, begi
 n with an illuminating lecture on Debussy\, followed by a live performance 
 that brings his shimmering sound world to life. Guests are then invited to 
 wander through Farm to Table: Art\, Food\, and Identity in the Age of Impre
 ssionism\, an exhibition exploring French artwork that features food and ch
 anging modern landscapes\, while the quartet performs a rapturous new work 
 from composer Nicky Sohn. They will conclude with Ravel Unraveled\, offerin
 g new insights into Ravel’s artistry before a culminating performance of hi
 s beloved Quartet.\n SAM Creates: Image Transfers with Casey Ailes\nJoin lo
 cal artist Casey Ailes as she walks us through her image transfer process u
 sing a few of her favorite images from pop cultural artists found inside th
 e museum's collection. Each person will have an opportunity to create their
  own piece of art to take home with them and learn about how to create an i
 mage transfer. No experience necessary.
