It’s no easy feat maintaining the museum’s collection of nearly 25,000 objects, but year after year, SAM’s dedicated team of conservators manage to get it done. Join SAM’s conservation specialists for the inaugural season of our member-exclusive lecture series, Up Close with Conservators. Over the course of three monthly lectures, they will investigate ancient clay figurines using the latest technological advancements, offer insight into the challenges of supporting contemporary light-based artworks, and introduce a brand new conservation center dedicated to East Asian paintings. You won’t want to miss out on this amazing opportunity to learn from our experts!

Doors open at 6 pm for a short reception in the SAM's South Hall (with a free glass of wine!)
6:30–7:30 pm lecture in SAM's Plestcheeff Auditorium
