Join us for the Premier Member Opening Celebration of Poke in the Eye: Art of the West Coast Counterculture at the Seattle Art Museum.

Poke in the Eye celebrates offbeat ceramics, paintings, and sculptures from West Coast artists of the 1960s and '70s to today. During this time, artists primarily in Seattle and the Bay Area offered a rebellious alternative to East Coast aesthetics, creating works bursting with bold color, craft traditions, and irreverent humor.

The evening will include light hors d’oeuvres, wine, live 60's and 70's music by the Still Got It Band, and access to all galleries. An exhibition overview with take place at 7:30 pm with Carrie Dedon, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, in Plestcheeff Auditorium. Advance tickets are required and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Member benefits are not transferable.

Should this reception sell out, please email premier@seattleartmuseum.org to be placed on the waitlist.

Doors will open promptly at 7 pm to Premier Members. Please note entry before this time cannot be accommodated due to an earlier reception for Contributors Circles members.

Premier members are also invited to see the exhibition at our Member Preview & Happy Hour on Thursday, June 20 from noon to 8 pm.
