Join us at SAM Shop & Gallery for a book signing with authors Jed Perl, Elizabeth Hutton Turner and Vanja Malloy!

Author of Calder: Conquest of Time and Calder: Conquest of Space, Jed Perl will make his first appearance at SAM on Friday, May 17 to kick off the Calder Symposium with a lecture titled Calder's Radical Classicism. Pearl will then return to SAM for a book signing at SAM Shop & Gallery with fellow Calder scholars Elizabeth Hutton Turner and Vanja Malloy.

Jed Perl is a regular contributor to The New York Review of Books. He was the art critic for The New Republic for twenty years and a contributing editor to Vogue for a decade. His publication Authority and Freedom: A Defense of the Arts will be available for purchase at SAM Shop during this event.

Elizabeth Hutton Turner is a curator and professor whose scholarship highlights Calder's international impact on modern art and serves as an advisor to the Calder Foundation, New York. She is co-author of the publication Alexander Calder: Radical Inventor and editor of Jacob Lawrence: The American Struggle, both of which will be available for purchase at SAM Shop during this event.

Dr. Vanja V. Malloy is an accomplished museum director, curator, scholar, and community builder. She is co-author of Alexander Calder: Radical Inventor, which will be available for purchase at SAM Shop during this event.
