The Louisa Boren K8 STEM, Distinct Middle School Art Show is an annual Project-Based Learning (PBL) experience. Through this project, students showcase their talents while learning, connecting, and expressing emotions through the arts. These student artists have multiple disabilities and face developmental and cognitive challenges. This opportunity supports the growth of their self-confidence and self-esteem.
Throughout the school year, students work on their art projects, which culminate in an Art Show held during PBL Night at the school. This project is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the STEM special education teacher, instructional assistants, art teacher at STEM, art teacher at West Seattle High School, and the Museum of Special Arts.
