Be illuminated by the Seattle Asian Art Museum's newest exhibition, Anila Quayyum Agha: Geometry of Light, and take advantage of the rare opportunity to hear from the artist herself at a talk just for SAM members!
Through the use of light and shadows, Agha’s large-scale installations project hope in the face of adversity. Her laser-cut steel cubes project light through intricate ornate designs that cover you in geometric shadow patterns and create a sense of wonder. Experience this immersive installation that invites introspection, connection, and community.
Members are invited to a special evening at the museum featuring exclusive access to the galleries, a happy hour, and an engaging artist talk. From 4–6 pm, enjoy drinks and snacks available for purchase in the Fuller Garden Court while mingling with fellow members. Then, from 5–8 pm, explore the galleries at your leisure—closed to the public and open just for you.
The artist talk takes place in Stimson Auditorium, with doors opening at 5:30 pm. Seating is very limited and first-come, first-served. Due to high interest, overflow seating with a live simulcast will be available in the Alvord Board Room. If you're unable to attend, the talk will be recorded and shared on our members-only YouTube channel. And if your plans change, please let us know so we can offer your spot to another member.
Anila Quayyum Agha: Geometry of Light is organized by the Seattle Art Museum.
