Trombonist Beserat Tafesse and his band of cutting-edge musicians define the present-day sound of Jazz in Seattle. Born to Ethiopian immigrants in the Pacific Northwest, Beserat Tafesse grew up with a wide array of musical and cultural influences. After cementing his love for Jazz, he attended the Manhattan School of Music, studying Jazz Trombone with some of the greats, and shedding nightly with many of New Yorkâs living legends. Now making Seattle his home once again, Beserat is at the center of the Jazz communityâs most inspired music.
